Do you know what time it is? Let's see if you can guess....
Hmmmm.....
How 'bout now...
Any clue?
You must have an inkling...
...tee hee....
...is it on the tip of your tongue?
Go ahead, roll the dice...
It's that time of the month where you can choose anything you like.
You choose a recipe...any recipe...any theme...
Blog it, link it, leave a comment...
Yup, you guessed it...I knew you would...
Okay, one rule...make sure you're using a recipe from our current beau, Mark Bittman! Simple, huh?

Fun potluck post Heather! So happy to have you back in action. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI made my potluck dish for dinner tonight--YUM! But probably won't post for another day or too. ;-)
That is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Very creative Heather, such fun.
Guess I had better crack the books and find something to make for pot luck..!
I loved this post! Yay potluck!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Heather! Very creative, playful and fun:D
ReplyDeleteGreat post - I haven't quite decided what to cook yet, but looking forward to whipping up another Bittman recipe.
ReplyDeleteNow for an OMG, this could not have come at a better time ... I have yet to get a Bittman book, and have been using online recipes, but my prayers have been answered in the just released "How to Cook Everything" iPhone application http://www.culinate.com/app/htce This is positively genius - has the entire contents of the book, a place to store and keep favourites, variations, grocery lists, and more I think. I've just downloaded it and can't wait to start playing!!
Sue
OK, my Pasta with Bacon & Breadcrumbs (aka: a little bit of heaven!) is posted.
ReplyDeleteSue--I added the HTCE iphone app myself today even though I have the book--It was $1.99 for Pete's sake. ;-) I can't wait to play around with it too.
Man, I need an iphone.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we are all in the mood for comfort food this week. Yum!
I brought the chocolate mousse, grab a spoon..
Sue - Thanks for sharing the information about the iphone app for HTCE. I don't have an iphone, but I know that many people do and I'm sure that people will find that helpful :D
ReplyDeleteDeb - I am definitely thinking of making your pasta with bacon and breadcrumbs this week - you sold me on it!
Natashya - I love the mousse, especially this grown up version which is a perfect warm weather dessert!
Chaya - I am getting an error message when I click on your link, but I'm guessing the caramelized apple cake is delicious!
Wow, that is so cool. I wish I had an IPhone!!!
ReplyDeleteKim, I will go back and see what is going on.
ReplyDeleteI love the intro, Heather. Glad to see you back.
Kim, I clicked on it and it took me to the recipe. Would you try it again?
ReplyDeleteHey Chaya,
ReplyDeleteI just tried it now to check out your dish and leave you a comment and the link takes me to your blog but with an error message and not the recipe.
Aloha,
Deb
Thanks Chaya...glad to be back :) I tried clicking on your link and got the "error" message, as well...shows your blog, just no content in the main section!?
ReplyDeleteJust posted my Chile Bisque - a smoky, spicy, unique treat!
ReplyDeleteHi, I just posted Spicy Cinnamon Pork from How to Cook Everything - now I'm checking out the iPhone app. Sounds so useful!
ReplyDeleteCool collection of 'pot luck' pics :)
Hello and happy pot luck week "ya'll". I made steamed pot stickers.
ReplyDeletePot stickers for pot luck week! HaHaHa
My first IHCC post!
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted to strawberries, so had to do something with them.
And i really want an i phone to(i pad would also be great)
We weren't wild about Mark Bittman at first, however the more recipes of his we cook we are begining to get a bit more excited with him. Great posts everyone.
ReplyDeleteI loved the potluck theme! I especially loved the creative post announcing the theme!
ReplyDeleteWhat a hectic week it's been. I just posted Curried Coconut Aubergine with Potatoes - loved it!!
ReplyDeleteIt's Saturday afternoon (a wet one to boot) and now I have a bit of time to sit down and read all your posts - it looks as though you've all cooked up some wonderful dishes.
Am loving the iPhone application - it's genius. I saw a tweet today - an application for HTCE Vegetarian is in the works, possibly out later this year - how cool. A Kitchen Express application would really cap things off :-)
Sue
Natshya, that chocolate mousse looks gorgeous, and the espresso cream really does it for me - I love the combination of coffee and chocolate.
ReplyDeleteSue
Natshya... your chocolate mousse looks incredible. You're lucky this is a virtual potluck otherwise guests would be clamouring for more :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pot luck dishes this week! Can't wait to check them all out.
ReplyDeleteDeb, you were my pasta inspiration :)
Post is up.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo series for this post here. It made me stop and think "That's not spear-mint,isn't it?"
;)
I brought two kinds of pasta. I'm so indecisive ;) Delicious potluck everybody!
ReplyDeleteAndreas...LOL!! Only if spear-mint can somehow be connected with "pot". Cuz that's what I was going for. In case I wasn't clear ;P I would say maybe if it was lucky...but it would have to be in the second position for that... Okay, rhetorical I know...yet I still blabber on.
ReplyDeleteMy first IHCC post and I screwed up! I made an eggplant dip from Bittman's 101 picnic dishes list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for organizing!
I don't think you screwed up Melissa!? Looks great...and your link took me to the post, so...yum. :)
ReplyDeleteGirlichef, just read your post - that pasta with fried eggs got me positively drooling - why have I never done that, it looks sensational!!
ReplyDeleteSue

ReplyDeleteSue & Kim...yes! It was so good and super simple... try it, you won't be disappointed. I hope ;)
ReplyDeleteFinally got the photos fixed on my mac and cheese post! As always, I am loving the variety of this week's potluck! I now have to try the brownies, several more pasta meals, and that chili bisque!
