What makes you feel like a kid again?  Is it the smell of your favorite dish as a child?  Is it melting ice cream dripping down the side of a cone?  Is it biting into a warm chocolate chip cookie?  Is it cooking with your own children in the kitchen...hearing their laughter...seeing them fight over who gets to lick the bowl?  Is it a simple sandwich...or a bowl of soup...or a meal you always dreamed of eating when you got older?  Is it simply a sense of adventure and wonder and exploration?  What it is that channels your inner child, spend some time in the kitchen this week and then come back and share some of the fun with us!

Make and post your Kid at Heart recipe by Sunday, November 14th. Don't forget to link your post of the week's with Mr. Linky below, so we can all enjoy your fabulous creation! Remember to leave a comment after, each week that you use Mr. Linky to link your post, just to be sure we don't miss anyone.

Not sure what a permalink is? Check out our Welcome post.

If you missed the Out of Italy theme last week, be sure to head on over and see all of the delicious dishes everyone brought!  Don't forget, we're cooking through the recipes of Giada De Laurentiis right now...so if you've linked up, be sure that you've used/adapted one of her recipes for your post!

Hi Carla. We're very glad to have you play along here at IHCC, but we're currently featuring ONLY the recipes/adaptations of Giada De Laurentiis. We focus on one particular chef/cook for a 6 month period. Please feel free to cook something of hers or inspired by her and link back up anytime! Thanks :)

Oh dear, I'm so sorry. You can remove it if you want.

No worries, Carla...we're glad to have you anytime...we just started with Giada, so plenty of time to jump in :)

Sorry, everyone! I put my link on last week's post instead of this week's! I have it up here as well now.

Well, my recipe didn't work out as planned! What a disaster! Luckily I could salvage something for dinner, but this week didn't help my feelings for G grow any stronger :(

Cookies and ice cream, and fun sprinkles. I feel 7 again!

Fun theme. Thanks!

I'm not going to lie--I made the Sauteed Shrimp Cocktail--unusual & good, for the sheer ease and ability to cook out of my pantry on a crazy week rather than its Kid at Heart vibe. ;-)

Hoping to get around to see everyone's dishes tomorrow. ;-)

Sorry Lynda, we are only cooking from Giada's recipes in this club right now. Feel free to join in if you make something of hers.

I had such high hopes for mine, but it was disappointing. Oh well. Still posted about it. Live and learn.

Just linked my Kids at Heart recipe for Giada's Homemade Orange Marshmallows! They were so much fun to make and really easy too!

Enjoy!

Sorry I'm late; just been a super busy week! I loved this theme! Really brought me back to my childhood! Thanks!

I finally did it. I cooked Giada! I said that to butter the other day and she made a silly comment about whether she tasted like chicken or something! I got the Giada at home cookbook out of the library and made her All'Amatriciana sauce with smoked mozzarella stuffed meatballs which really spoke to the child in me. Biting into the meatballs to find the creamy center is certainly a child soul satisfying occasion! I liked this sauce, but I used bacon instead of pancetta, so, of course, I would love it! Thanks for pushing me to try a new cook! Alex
