Dear Yotam Ottolenghi,
What a incredible six months it has been cooking along with you!
- You brought vegetables from the sidelines to the center of our plates...
- You introduced exotic ingredients like harissa, sumac, za'atar, and labneh into our world...
- You showed us the beauty in a perfectly "burnt" eggplant and had us drooling over your cookbook photos...
- You got us to cook with unique and delicious flavor combinations...
- You made salads sexy...
- You challenged us and made us grow... (I mean sure, occasionally we grumbled a bit about the long and unusual ingredient lists and sometimes vague recipe directions, but the end results made it worth the effort!)
- You gave us an amazing amount of wonderful dishes and cooking experiences...
Oh Ottolenghi!
As much as we are looking forward to cooking along with our new IHCC chef Donna Hay, we are truly going to miss cooking with you each week and exploring the world of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Israeli cooking. But, don't be too sad--although we might not see you as quite regularly anymore, we will always have POTLUCK!
Yours Truly,
Your Loving I Heart Cooking Club Friends

Love this post, Deb! I'm definitely gonna miss Ottolenghi. I've had more favorites during our six months with him than ever before. I've really enjoyed all the textures and unique flavor combinations. Gotta get my hands on a copy of Ottolenghi the cookbook.
Looking forward to a delicious week with lots of new recipes and also everyone's favorites!
I baked Yotam a cake for his going away party ;)!
Ok, I cheated a bit, but the chicken and salad were still delicious!
I've made a delicious roasted chicken dish. And a roundup of all the dishes from Ottolenghi that I've made for the past 6 months, cannot make up my mind which are my favourites!
Will definitely miss cooking together with Ottolenghi, but like what Deb says, there's always Potluck!
Nice post, Deb!
Looking forward to "our trip to Australia with Donna Hay"! See ya, mate! :)
I made a cauliflower soup w/ mustard croutons this week. The croutons were stellar! Also have a round-up of my top 5. So long Ottolenghi...thanks!
I made the very wonderful pan-roasted fish with green tahini sauce and pomegranate plus my dozen favorite Ottolenghi recipes roundup. (It was so hard to choose!) ;-)
I just couldn't narrow things down to a few favourites for a round-up - I loved everything I made with Ottolenghi and I'm really going to miss him. Instead, I'm celebrating Ottolenghi's genius ways with the humble cauliflower this week
I made a noodle dish was absolutely the freshest that cool salad I've ever had ... I will miss Ottolenghi too, but I am celebrating him by ordering Jerusalem and getting ready to place his recipes in the rotation of dinner menus ... too healthy and good to skip out on. Whoever thought of including this guy in IHCC's chef celebration was a genius!
Just posted Ottolenghi's Chicken Sofrito which was absolutely delicious! I had to include my top favorites, but really I enjoyed every Ottolenghi dish I tried. Looking forward to checking out everyone's posts later tonight!
Can't wait to see all the gorgeous Donna Hay dishes next week ;)
