Out of Italy

This week we are exploring Giada's recipes - Out of Italy!

Yep, Giada has been known to play with other cuisines and we are taking a trip with her.... in our kitchens.

Shall we go to Spain? England? France? America? Mexico? or maybe the Far East?

Get out your passports because this week we are Out of Italy!

Find a great Giada recipe that is not Italian this week - cook it up and share it with us on or by November 7th. Hook it up with Mr. Linky, below, so we can all travel with you!

What a fun post, Natashya! I'd like to be on a plane flying somewhere warm right about now.

Well, when I read the title for this week and it said Out of Italy, I didn't know you mneant OUT of Italy. So, mine is still Italy. But I make my recipes the week before, and I reserve the right to interpret however :)

Thanks!

Pam, no worries - you are always allowed your own interpretation. In fact, I wonder if I interpreted the title correctly! Someone else suggested it, I did the post.
It's all good! ☺

My bad! As the aforementioned "someone else" who suggested it, I did mean not from Italy in order to explore some other cuisines but I probably should have titled it "Outside of Italy" to be more accurate rather than catchy, or we may want to consider a brief explanation on some of the more confusing titles when we post them.
;-)

In any case Pam, as Natashya says, you can interpret it in any way and it's all good. In fact I think you can pretty much do anything as long as it is a recipe from the current chef lol! Sorry for the confusion everyone.

Fun post Natashya--makes me want to go catch a plane. ;-)

I think I'll go to America this week. So many of my friends live there! ☺

Giada and I hung out in Asia with her Asian Chicken Salad this week. I made a few changes and it was delicious. ;-)

Morning!
I did a steak sandwich with grilled mushrooms. American. With French overtones. Yummy, anyway! ☺

Pam-I thought the same thing...Out of Italy as in straight out of Italy, authentic Italian food!

Sorry for the duh moment! But I'm so excited to share my fav Giada dish I'm still going with it.

This is a fun post! It was hard to pick one that fit the theme, I was between a Greek dish and the French Onion soup - clearly, the soup won. I am off to vist you all now :-)

Sounds like "out of italy" is open to interpretation, but either way everything looks delicious.

I'm loving those steak sandwiches Natashya! Good way to use your last grilled steak of the season.

Okay guys, I was thinking "Out of Italy" was supposed to be authentic Italian as well, until I read this post, now I get it! Great post BTW, makes me want to hop a plane as well!

I just posted Giada's Vegetable Chow Mein -- out of Italy for sure :)

Take care,
Andrea

Hi Deb, Natashya, Kim and all! I've just posted a very simple recipe. Sorry for my absence, I've been slammed at work and hope to post more again soon. Buon Appetito! Roz

Hey ladies, I hate to be a bit promotional here, but I wanted to ask anyone who had the yen, to link any old bittman recipe to my monthly tackling bittman linky at a moderate life. I would really appreciate it. Also, I just got a Giada cookbook out of the library, her one about in the kitchen, and I promise to cook something for next week! :) Alex

Hi Roz,

No worries--we are always happy to have you join us when you can. ;-)

I am adding a second recipe this week, Giada's Apple and Thyme Martinis. I was torn between them and the Asian Chicken Salad I already posted so I made both. Very tasty and perfect for fall.

I guess staying in America is being out of Italy.

I have to look through Giada's recipes. I haven't had a moment to really find some to make, in the future when we are back in Italy. I know, I am going to find all too many.

i was going to do a salmon dish. But we spent too much time hiking and taking photos for my photog class that I listened to the kids and stopped to eat at the Macaroni Grill. Oh, so disappointed... No salmon, but the drink was awesome! For me a bit too sweet. For the husband just right:)

Or, for some of us, America is a whole new country!

Interesting theme. I found out Giada does a lot of cuisine from other countries. I made TexMexItalian!!

No worries, Lana! I went into Mr. Linky and sorted it out for you. Now just the good link is up.
Cheers!

Huh. I tried to link AND comment yesterday, and it didn't work. Please pardon the late link/comment. I really thought it went through yesterday.

NKP said...

No problem Allison! You actually linked and commented on the week before post. Cheers!
