Wouldn't you just love it if dinner was ready and waiting for you?
This week we are going to experience the joy of make-ahead meals! In celebration of Ellie's newest cookbook, You Have It Made!, we are going to focus on all dishes that can be made ahead and ready to serve at a moment's notice!
What type of dish will be ready and waiting for you? Please make and post your You Have It Made dish by Sunday, January 24th!
Please remember to link a thumbnail image and leave a comment after linking so we don't miss out on your dish.

Baked oatmeal ahead and gave me a few minutes of sleep.
Made muesli parfait the night before and had it for breakfast the next morning. :D
You have so many wonderful chefs to choose from, but there seems to be in inordinate amount of Ellie Krieger themed topics going on. I for one do not rush out and buy a cookbook because of the author and loved the diverse direction of this club "discovering great chef's techniques" etc. as quoted in the clubs headline.
Perhaps it tis time t take on a new chef's theme beyond Ellie since I can see nothing posted beyond what is available from the cookbook on "look inside" options on Amazon etc. I think that Ellie's latest book needs to go beyond breaking ground and circulate for a bit of time.
I have made many of Ellie's recipes over the years thankfully Fine Cooking has been my major source.
I don't think that I will struggle with this particular contribution or purchase another cookbook, but I do look forward to participating when the focus is on the other contributing chef's.
ibbeachnana,
Thanks for your thoughts and feedback. I saw your comment and wanted to reply to clear up any confusion you have about IHCC. As noted on the site, IHCC selects a chef to cook with for 6 months, Ellie Krieger is our current featured chef (from Oct 5 thru April 3--until we switch to a new chef April-Oct) so you will see her in the weekly themed posts--2 to 3 times a month with the idea that participants make an Ellie Krieger recipe for that week, related to that week's theme and post it by the Sunday night deadline.
Two weeks out of the month we have 1) A Potluck on the last week of the month--where participants can make any dish from Ellie or any of our previous 12 IHCC featured chef's (listed on the Potluck posts or under the heading) and 2) Our Monthly Featured Chef Theme on the 2nd week of the month where we revisit one of our previous chefs and participants can make any recipe by that featured chef. (Jamie Oliver was January's Featured Chef and Tessa Kiros is February's).
The themes are there to make it fun and to build community so that people can check out (and comment on) how their fellow participants interpreted the theme. We love our featured chefs (usually voted in by our members) and celebrate when they have a milestone like a new cookbook--such as Ellie's just released;"You Have It Made" but that doesn't mean anyone is expected to buy the cookbook to participate unless they want to. In this case, it simply means that the dish made/posted this week should be a dish that can be made ahead and Ellie has plenty of those online or in her other books. For example, my dish that I am posting this week is her Lemony Lentil Soup that is on her website and one of her early books but can be made ahead and heated up to enjoy.
Hope that helps explain us a bit more.
Aloha,
Deb
Ellie's Lemony Lentil Soup with Greens from So Easy is a great make-ahead soup. ;-)
A healthier blueberry muffins, a breeze to make, can be frozen, reheat and enjoy anytime!
I made shortcake using Ellie's DIY Whole-Grain Buttermilk Pancake Mix from her newest book! :D
